New York Yankee World Series Champion
to Speak to Boys & Girls Club Members


Scranton – New York Yankee World Series Champion Jim Leyritz will be speaking to members at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeastern Pennsylvania on Thursday, June 21, 2012 at 3:30 p.m. about the dangers of drugs and alcohol.  The Club is located at 609 Ash Street in Scranton.

The Club offers a variety of preventative programs to boy and girls ages 6-18 residing in Lackawanna and Luzerne Counties.  Programs include but are not limited too: Too Good for Drugs, Kids in Control and Get Real About Violence.

According to Tricia DiBiasi Thomas, “We are very excited to have Mr. Leyritz visit the Club and speak to our Club members.  Mr. Leyritz’s message will reinforce the preventative programs we deliver to our members on a regular basis.” 

This event is open to the public.

Later in the evening Mr. Leyritz, along with another New York Yankee World Series Champion, Roy White, will be signing autographs and taking pictures with fans as part of a fundraiser to benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of NEPA at  5:30 p.m. at Fratelli’s Restaurant located at 1249 Providence Road in Scranton.  Tickets are $25 per attendee and may be purchased at the door.
