Annually, Bank of America’s North America Treasury Operations sponsors and coordinates a community service project. This year, the Boys and Girls Club of America was chosen as the beneficiary of a donation drive to collect items specified by each local club.
The overall banner for the project was Stock the Closet and local bank teams chose creative themes to build excitement and enthusiasm. Super heroes won the day in Concord, CA while A Cruise to Knowledge (a.k.a. The Love Boat) sailed to success in New York. Our associates in Dallas, TX asked Are You Smarter Than A Fifth Grader and the Scranton, PA site chose a Stuff the Bus theme complete with a school bus.
Bank associates at our Scranton, PA site on Montage Mountain coordinated their efforts with the Boys and Girls Club of Northeastern Pennsylvania. In addition to the Stuff the Bus theme, associates made it a bit more interesting by having a contest of their own. The department in Scranton who raised the most donations will be treated to a pizza party hosted by the other departments.
Donations from the Scranton site included hundreds of items ranging from school supplies, arts and crafts materials, exercise mats, tennis sets, pool sticks, kick balls, electronic games, board games and play station II games. The donated items were collected and packed into a school bus and driven to the Boys and Girls Club on Ash Street in Scranton. Bank of America associates happily presented the donated items to the Boys and Girls Club’s Executive Director, Mary Ann Dziak, and Trish Thomas, Development Director.
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeastern Pennsylvania is extremely grateful to Bank of America and all of their employees who made this year’s Stuff the Bus campaign such a smashing success. All of the donated items will be put to good use by our members.
